  • Recognizing Normal Vital Signs: Discover how to check your pet's heart rate, breathing, and temperature. You'll know what's normal so you can spot when something's wrong.  
  • Handling Breathing and Cardiac Emergencies: Learn life-saving skills like dog CPR and cat CPR. Be prepared to respond if your pet ever chokes or has trouble breathing. 
  • Managing Wounds and Bleeding: Whether it's a small cut or a more serious injury, you'll learn how to clean wounds, stop bleeding, and bandage your pet safely. 
  • Helping During Seizures: Understand what seizures look like and how to keep your pet safe during one. You'll also learn when it's time to take your pet to the vet. 
  • Preventative Care: Keep your pets healthy with tips on preventing sickness and preparing for emergencies. Learn how to ensure your pets live long, happy lives. 
Canadian Red Cross Online-Based Learning
  • Self-directed: Learn at your own pace by working through the training materials online.
  • Duration: Approximately 1 hour online.
  • At the end of each module, there will be a short knowledge check. These are not tests; you are not being evaluated. They are just there so you can check your own understanding of what has been covered so far. Remember, you can always go back and review if you wish.
